Sun Odyssey 51
The hull of the SUN ODYSSEY 51 comes from the board of Bruce Farr, internationally acclaimed designer of many highly successful IOP racing yachts and Whitbread Round the Worlds maxis. The high performance lines, fashioned for speed and safety, bear a clear family resemblance to those of the victorious Steinlager II. For ease of handling the rigging is fully integrated. Sail control lines are neatly and unobtrusively laid out so as not to obstruct any part of the wide sunbathing deck areas where you can stretch out and relax on large comfortable deck cushions. The luxury and safety of teak decking is a standard feature for the cockpit, side decks, and coachroof. Deck fittings have been selected for quality, performance and convience, with generously oversized cleats and chain plates, a very neat profiled stern fitting for the self - stowing anchor, mainsail roller furling, and twin steering pedestals positioned well clear of the sail trimming area in the large cockpit. Designed to make the maximum use of space and to accommodate as many people as possible, the interior of the SUN ODYSSEY 51 is a model of conviviality. No less than 20 opening ports provide plentiful ventilation and daylight, creating a sense of cool, bright spaciousness below decks. The very attractive U-shaped galley is particularly well ventilated , and fully fitted for maximum convenience and practicality. Ample food stowage is provided in two cold boxes plus a front-opening refrigerator. A special easyclean work surface is surrounded by plenty of storage units all beautifully finished in teak. Particular attention has been paid to the design of the navigation area, eight a large chart table, bookshelf and main electrical panel carefully laid out so that everything falls easily ti hand. The main saloon is exceptionally spacious, and can easily seat ten people in comfort. The central feature is beautiful walnut table, with folding leaves that enable it to be used while under way without obstructing free movement through the cabin. A notable feature of the SUN ODYSSEY 51 is the crew or children's cabin in the bow. This is completely separate from the main living area and accessible only through itsown hatch. The four main cabins are all of very high standard - spacious , and each with a double berth and individual shower/wc.
